Drs. Dirk and Lanita Thomas have been married for a little over 10 years. Dirk grew up here in Owasso, graduating in 1990. Lanita was raised in Broken Arrow. They both attended NSU in Tahlequah for their bachelor degrees (where they met) and Lanita attended Optometry school at NSU and Dirk attended OU for Dental school. They moved back to Owasso after Dirk graduated from dental school. Lanita started Thomas Eye Care in 2000, while Dirk worked for the Indian clinic in Tulsa for three years and then he joined us starting the Dental care side in 2003. Dirk and Lanita have four children who also to keep them busy. Brady is 7 and he visits the office after school on Mondays and Fridays. Colby is 5, he goes to Grandma's house on work days. Audrey is 2 and already a veteran at the office. She has been "working" here since she was 3 weeks old. Delaney Ella was born September 21. She weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and was 19 inches long. There is a lot of pink around the Thomas house now!

Shellye Canton is the Patient Coordinator, and has been with Thomas Dental and Eye Care since May of 2006. In the 11 years that Shellye has served in the dental field, she brings a lot of knowledge to our practice. She has been a dental assistant for 9 of those years, and has all certifications needed. Patient care has always been a #1 priority to her, and she is here to help you! Shellye is a graduate of Broken Arrow class of 1996, and currently resides in mid-town Tulsa. She has two children Boomer and Shelby, and they are the cutest Shih Tzu's you will ever see! A few things that Shellye enjoys outside of the office is: OU football (BOOMER SOONER!), playing golf, shopping, going to the lake, spending time with her family, and hanging out with friends.

Cheryl Frazier is our Dental Hygienist. She is married with children, four to be exact. Five is you're counting her husband! Glen and Cher moved to Owasso in 2001 and have had two children graduate from Owasso High. Both Jeff and Bryce are currently attending college out of state and pursuing their sports. Katie is a sophomore and on the High School soccer team, as well as a local competitive team. Trevor is a 5th grader and loves Karate. He is currently an orange belt and working on his advancements. Two dogs, two cats, and sports keeps this family on the go! Glen is an Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic and is working for Nordam. Cher has been in dentistry since 1993 and has been here at TD&EC since 2004 and enjoys helping her neighbors and friends achieve healthy smiles.

Leah Honeyman is our Patient coordinator for Doctor Lanita Thomas. She graduated from Owasso High School in 2002. She has a 3 year old daughter named Brynn who keeps her very busy. Leah loves spending time with her family, friends. She also enjoys going to the lake and laying out by the pool in the summer, taking Brynn to the park, reading and of course shopping!

Kim LeFlore has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 19 years. She graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa in 1985. After graduation she attended Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!!) for 2 years and graduated from Dental Hygiene school at Rose State College in 1989. Kim has been married for 18 ½ years. Her husband Joe is a Captain on the Tulsa Fire Department. They have 2 children, Shelby, 17, a Junior at Owasso High School and Wesley, 12, a 6th grader here at Owasso. They have a yellow lab (Bella) and a miniature schnauzer(Heidi). Kim and her family spend lots of time at the baseball field watching Wes play competitive baseball. When not at the baseball field they love to travel… especially to warm places. They have just recently all gotten their scuba certification and plan on putting it to good use.

Laura Richardson is the Patient Coordinator for Dr. Lanita Thomas. She has a 18 year old daughter named Hayden. Hayden will be a freshman at the University of Oklahoma in the fall. They have lived in Owasso since 2000 and have truly come to call it home. Laura enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family which includes their 3 dogs: Claude, Hannah, and Fendi.

Dawn Schaffitzel is a dental assistant here at Thomas Dental and Eye Care. She comes to us with 19 years of experience in the dental field. Dawn and her husband Mark have two sons, Cole(10) and Wyatt (7)that keep them very busy with sports, motorcycle racing, camping and spending lots of time with family and friends. When time allows you may also find the family at the local dirt tracks watching Mark race his car.
